• Infant Baptisms

If you would like your child baptised (sometimes called a Christening Service), we'd love to hear from you! We would be delighted to celebrate with you as you and your little ones start this life-long journey of faith and wonder.

Baptism is where you commit to pray for your child and bring them up in the ways of the Christian faith - showing them a Christian lifestyle, reading them Bible stories and bringing them up as part of a community of faith. Fill in the form below and send it to the wardens if you'd like to explore a date for this.

    Dedication Services

Some parents prefer to allow their children to make their own decision to be baptised when they grow older. If this is you, we can still celebrate this amazing new life with you. Dedication Services resemble a baptism, but your child will not be baptised. We will pray for them, bless them, pronounce their name and can fit in other symbolic acts which help your wider family know their part in your little one's life, and that God longs to be part of that life too.

To explore this, contact the wardens.

  • Adult Baptisms

If you have come to faith and not yet been baptised, there are a few ways we can explore that with you. Some adults are baptised at our font in St Ninian's, others choose full-immersion in the sea, or a river.

Either way, the message is the same - you want to follow the instruction of Jesus to be baptised as a believer, making a public declaration of your faith in God, and celebrating with family and friends.

The wardens would be delighted to discuss this with you.

    Confirmation Services

If you were baptised as an infant or child and now have found that you own this faith for yourself, the Church of England has a service of confirmation - where you literally confirm that the vows made on your behalf as a child are now your own faith.

This service usually involves the Bishop, so if you think this may be for you, please do get in contact with the wardens, and we will get talking! If you're interested in this, please email the wardens using this little button.

  • Weddings

For many people, a church is the place they have often dreamed of having their wedding.

It's usually possible to have your wedding at St Ninian's, especially if you have some kind of family connection to the community. You could also choose to have part or all of your reception with us in our Upper Room space.

If you choose to have your big day with us, we will endevour to work with you to make it all that it should be. To start investigating dates and possibilities with us, do get in contact with the wardens. Once your date is booked, we'll let you know which forms you'll need to fill in. You'll find links to download those forms at the bottom of this page.

    Parties, Conferences or Events

The Parish Centre and worship space are both incredibly flexible. With our modern kitchen, break-out rooms, upstairs space, moveable furniture, no pews, free WiFi and accessible toilets, our spaces are bright and usable for whatever your needs may be.

Whether you'd like a kids party, a regular club, a business meeting, exhibition, concert, drama or more - we've had them all here! All we ask is that you respect the fact that this is also a place of worship. Our hiring fees are as reasonable and help to support our work in the parish.

  • Christmas, Easter and more...

We believe that the seasons of the Christian story are important to celebrate in style, so you'll find there are carol services, concerts, movie-nights, midnight services and more around Christmas - Lent-courses, meals, Palm Sunday activities and plenty of eggs around Easter - as well as services around times like Pentecost, All Souls Day and more.

To find out what we might be doing that you could come to - head to our 'About' page and check out the diary.

    Funerals and Celebrations of Life

We want you to know that it's firmly our belief that God feels the pain of loss just as we do, and as a church we look for ways to support you in grief for those you love.

We will work hard with you to make funeral services, cremations, or celebrations of a person's life fitting, respectful, and full of meaning. We will give you the space and pastoral support that we feel is part of caring as God would, and that support does not end when the service is over. When we help take you through a funeral, or a celebration - we commit to being a place you can come to as you learn to live in this new season of your life.

To speak to someone about funerals, celebrations, cremations or more, please get in contact with the wardens.
